When we think of movement in art, we think of its artistic currents and aesthetic trends. Our imagination wanders through the history of art, following the various "pictorial channels" with which it has been enamelled. Thinking about movement also means giving free rein to the reflections and social, political and historical challenges that artists bring to light in their work, the influence of these reflections on the representation of the black community and its place in the world. To complete this theme of movement, and after two years marked by the pandemic, it is impossible to ignore the notion of displacement, or rather the freedom of movement of the continent's artists. The authors of the book discuss this theme of movement in all its forms through a selection of eighteen artists, some of whom have exhibited at AKAA and others who have not.
