"In this series I follow the Somali women in south-western Ethiopia. The first time I travelled to this region, I noticed the strength of these women. They are the trinity of mother, sister and wife that hold life together.

The stories of these women are often left untold. In my series, I aspired to tell their story. But, perhaps more than this, I wanted to express their strength and trinity of life by adding depth and texture to my photographs with my peeling approach. I wanted to give the viewer the ability to touch the women's life and energy."
