The 58th Biennale of Art will open to the public on 11 May 2019. But starting from a few days before the opening there will be the various openings and side events that always suddenly animate the Venetian artistic life. The title of the 58 edition of the Biennale d'Arte is May You Live In Interesting Times.
79 artists are invited to exhibit at the 58th Venice Biennale of Art, with a prevalence of women. Among them the 2 Italians Ludovica Carbotta and Lara Favaretto. The first will make a site-specific work in Forte Marghera, inside the building known as the Austrian Powder Mill.

Press Release Mozambique Pavilion of 58th Venice Biennale of Art
Mozambique Pavilion is dedicated to its recent history and its painful passage thorugh the civil war that occpied the years between 1976 and 1992.
This trip along the Momzambique's past, through a contemporary art vision, has been realized thanks to the talent and the works by three artists who exctly grew up in the post-colonial period.
Gonçalo Mabunda, Mauro Pinto and Filipe Branquinho developedfor this exhibition different concepts of art that merge themselves in the unique question on how the political power today can negatively affect the people of Mozambique. In doing this the spectator will be moved by the spaces and works to create an intense reflexion about the corruption, social injustice and violence going beyond a simple aesthetic art experience.
The contemporary art of Mozambique so continues to be a vehicle of importan social message as it always did it since the colonial-era and the decade after independence when well know artists of the country begun to use their art to produce a crtitical process to the political processes that were taking place.
