The solo exhibition dedicated to the artist Nwaneri Kelechi Charles is the result of his artistic residency at AKKA Project Venice in 2020. The artworks on view reflect the experiences of his stay in Venice, in particular the relationship between humans and the environment.
The Nigerian-born artist is among the most promising ones of the contemporary art scenario. His research combines Photorealism, Surrealism, and Postmodernism, a mix that he defined Contemporary Surrealism. Inspired by West-African iconography, allegorical concepts and his daily experiences, he creates art with surrealistic imagery.
