Mauro Pinto was born 1974, Mozambique and currently lives and works in Maputo, Mozambique
Mauro Pinto is considered one of the most recognized contemporary photographers of Mozambique.
Through his lens, Mauro is celebrating the everyday world that surrounds him. His shots represent the ways of life of his country of origin and its people, both in the countryside and the city. For the body of works “the milieu” he’s entering people’s lives to document and show to the world the complex and tough life of this social class. In his shots, he is able to represent people’s lives and their feelings through the places and objects of the people he wants to describe. Through skillful use of light and space, his shots are full of social and emotional tension able to involves the viewer and bring it into the scene.
