Venice Glass Week

AKKA Project is happy to announce a project in collaboration with the Committe for the Safeguard of the Art of Venetian Glass Beads. 

Now on display in our gallery in Venice, on the occasion of the Venice Glass Week, are some compositions of contemporary Venetian beads inspired by those used in the very common and ancient exchanges of glass beads between the city of Venice and the African Continent.

On September 23th, from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm, the gallery team together with representatives of the Committee offer a guided tour of AKKA Project's Venetian space to deepen the meaning of the current show by Cyrus Kabiru who also creates artworks using  beads, especially during his artist's residency at AKKA Project Venezia.
