Osaru Obaseki at the Horniman Museum & Gardens in London

AKKA Project is proud to share the exciting news that our artist, Osaru Obaseki, is currently participating in a new artist residency at the Horniman Museum & Gardens in London, UK.
Osaru Obaseki is a Nigerian multi-media visual artist whose work explores materiality, history, cultural identity, societal realities, colonialism, and post-colonialism. She creates using sand (earth) and acrylic, blending ancient and modern civilizations in her art. Additionally, she is interested in working with bronze, utilizing the lost wax method to craft contemporary forms.
During her residency at the Horniman, Osaru will collaborate with the Winchester School of Art on a modern bronze sculpture, which will be featured in our new Benin Kingdom display. AKKA Project is thrilled to support her in this exciting endeavor, confident that this experience will further elevate her remarkable career.
