Examining the pieces in terms of contemporary social identity, influenced by postcolonial theories, the artist depicts forms that are laced with nature and culture through floral gestures and motif scarifications, connoting that people and society are similar to plants in their forms of growth and sense of identity.
The artist sees people as humans first before sex, race, age or status, bringing to one’s consciousness the purest form of humanity towards each other, and one’s sense of value. We are usually so carried away by what we see that we tend to forget that we are simply just beings, structured to grow in our various environments/societies and bloom just as nature. True power is to be and feel with our souls, and not with our eyes.
