Osaru Obaseki eloquently delves into the inspiration behind his artwork, captivated by the timeless allure of ancient architectural designs, the intricate allure of doorways, and the captivating shapes of urban layouts, each adorned with their own unique details. She finds herself endlessly fascinated by windows and the unparalleled views they offer, likening the experience of gazing through them to embarking on a journey where each vista reveals a fresh and unforeseen reality, thus emphasizing the essence of perception as the driving force behind her artistic endeavors. Reflecting on a specific moment during his exploration, on February 23rd 2024, Osaru Obaseki recounts her visit to the Natural History Museum in Venice, where she had the chance to explore Giovanni Miani's esteemed African collection. In this cultural immersion, she unexpectedly stumbled upon a fascinating circular window as she was exiting the museum. This particular window, with its unique shape and positioning, served as a frame for a mesmerizing glimpse of Venice itself, capturing the very essence of the city - from the distinctive architectural styles of its buildings to the intricate patterns of iron bars, the weathered yet enduring beauty of stone designs, and, of course, the meandering allure of the Venetian canals. This serendipitous encounter left an indelible impression on Osaru, inspiring her to translate this experience onto her canvas with meticulous detail and heartfelt reverence.
