“I have always known that my passion lies in art. It is where I feel most comfortable.”
Selina Onyando was born in 1997 in Nairobi, Kenya, where she currently lives and works.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Laws from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa in 2019 and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law in 2022. She works at the intersection of law and technology while pursuing a career in photography.
Onyando’s work is a reflection of everyday experiences, offering a glimpse into the undiscovered or overlooked. She takes a multimedia approach to storytelling by bridging analog and digital mediums, with a preference for film photography.
Onyandos images highlight Africa’s evolving culture, exploring beauty in the mundane and juxtapositions in nature and architecture. Her work ignites a sense of nostalgia, serving as a reference to a period in the continent’s history.
