Isaac Choloka | Zimbabwe

“Sculpting is not about age, size, weight or height. It is about the effort one puts in making the final product.
My main subjects are human figures, whose premise is symbolic of embedded love and feelings.”

Isaac Choloka was born in 1979 in Chegutu, Zimbabwe.

Choloka is regarded as one of the finest stone artists in Zimbabwe and his sculptures are among the most collectable in the country today.

Choloka started off as a cartoonist while in high school in Chegutu while his passion for stone carving  started after he got involved with this art through Wengai Chilenga and Lazarus Takawira, well known artists.

Choloka wants to represent human feelings and especially love. As he says “Love is something that everybody can relate to and comes in ways that we can easily overlook in our daily lives. So, I try to find the meaning of love in our daily lives and make it into artwork.”
